First I hope this is the right section for this message.
I am hoping someone on this forum has experience in creating HQ DivX video files.
Basically I need to start archiving my DvD collection to a media format that I can store on one of my servers.
I've tried several ways so far and I keep running into Quality issues. Pixelization being the biggest.
I am able to get the Dvd's ripped and stored as .VOB, but it's not feasible to store in that format when each movie is around 4.5 to 5GB in size. I can live with the size being around 850Mb to 950Mb per movie but no higher.
Here is a list of software I currently have.
DivX Pro 6.5.0 Codec
DivX 5.1.1 Codec
Xvid Mpeg-4 Codec
Ac3 Filter
FlaskMPEG 0.7.8.39
FlaskMPEG 0.594
Total Video Converter 3.02
#1 DVD Ripper
ImTOO 3GP Video Converter
TMPGEnc DVD Author 3 with DivX Authoring
Ulead VideoStudio 8 SE DVD
Ulead DVD MovieFactory 3 Suite
DivX Converter
Nero Digital
DVD Decrypter
Any suggestions? <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... >/help.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'(help)\' />

Yup, this is the correct section. Hopefully someone will be able to help you, because THE guru, NightStorm, is away for a few days.
