I watched that earlier - when I got the press release; what do you think of it, and what parts of Modern Warfare do you think will be included in v. 2?

Well, I don't really know what to think of it. It certainly doesn't reveal much... damn teasers. <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... >/blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />
However, I have noticed that there was a quick flash of some 'perk' like icons in the video. Discuss?
What are they going to bring from 1 to 2? Hopefully everything that was good. I would be happy if they just added more guns, fixed some issues and added more maps.
For my wish-list;
More than one 'accessory' for your gun.
More guns.
More pistols.
Ability to switch firing mode of guns.
More classes.
Gore.
CTF mode.
Possibility of having a pistol as your primary and secondary weapon. (I'm a fan of running around with pistols)
I'm sure there is more, I'm just failing to recall what else I wanted.

Some of the perks look like they might kind of obvious - but then who knows what they will actually be when Infinity Ward gets done with them. One looks like a speed perk, so perhaps we'll be able to sprint for a greater distance? The crossed blades - maybe we get to use two knives instead of one? The down arrow, I have no clue, the same with the one which looks like a balloon.
I like the suggestion of switching firing mode on guns - Rainbow Six Vegas 2 has that, and it can come in quite handy at times - and I'd definitely like the ability to add more than one accessory - either a bigger magazine, a better scope (because I like sniping) or a silencer. They'd all work for me as improvements.
I like when games have a CTF mode, because then it makes it even more attractive as a LAN tournament game; I would definitely like a longer story line, and gore is good.
What about henchies - the NPC characters who play alongside you? I liked the ones in Bad Company (and I'm looking forward to Bad Company 2 as well), but I'm not so sure I'm liking the ones in Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway because they seem to glitch a lot, or get stuck. Last night when I was playing, they either wouldn't fire the bazooka (which was needed to complete an objective), or once got stuck running in a circle and jumping over a barrier which he was supposed to be stationed behind.

I thought the SP campaign was the perfect length. I loved that it didn't drag on forever and it didn't get repetitive.
Which re-minds me. I wish that they would fix the 'trigger effect'. What is meant by this is that in single player enemies will keep on re spawning until you get past a certain point or a 'trigger'. It does promote progression, but when you have it set on the hardest difficulty moving forward with enemies constantly re spawning is... difficult to say the least.
I would also love for them to fix spawning in MP. The number of times I have consecutively been spawned into an air strike is beyond ridiculous. It also sucks when you are trying to plant a bomb, you make you're way to the plant site, you clear the site by shooting people, you go to plant... then the people you just shot re spawn pretty much right next to you, and then BAM! you're dead.
Or you rush in to an area, you see that it's clear, you run past and a guy spawns right behind you. <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... #>/dry.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'<_<\' />
Plenty of other instances too, so that's a big one they need to fix.
As for the 'henchmen'. I thought they were pretty good in cod4. I'm always happy to get improvements though. One thing that I hate is when they make the 'henchmen' completely useless. So it's basically you shooting everyone and having to defend your team mates because they are too stupid to shoot anyone and too stupid to hide from enemy fire. What's the point of putting them in if they are just a hindrance? <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... #>/dry.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'<_<\' />

I definitely agree with you about the respawning problems - sometimes I use the constant respawning of hostiles in SP to my advantage though - especially in achievement gains. An endless supply of hostile spawns makes it easy to get the achievements for things like kill "X" number of hostiles using a certain weapon.
Modern Warfare isn't the only game with spawn issues in MP, though. It seems that there are a fair number of FPS games with problems like this. You'd think that all of these developers would find a way to improve on it.
The henchies in Bad Company don't die - they get blown up or shot and make some comment like "ow that hurt" and go flying through the air, but they don't quit. Of course you also can't direct them to somewhere they're needed - but that also means they don't act like no-mind computer characters and just stand there or get stuck, either. Would be nice if developers could find a balance which works as far as NPCs go.
Have you played Call of Duty World At War yet?

I have played through the campaign (which was pretty damn fun) and I have played online a little bit, however I have to say that I'm not a fan of the vehicles and I hope they don't add any into MW2.
I do love the gore though, and I like that they made it so you can unlock more custom slots by going through the prestige mode. I also like that they have more stats at the end of rounds, things such as "Your Nemesis". Definitely a couple of things that Infinity ward could pick up from them.
I also liked playing the maps, they were pretty cool... Or maybe I just liked the change from Crash/Sabotage. <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... #>/dry.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'<_<\' /> Most over played map/game-type ever.

So many gamers like the vehicles, I can't see them not adding at least some in MW2. I haven't played prestige mode yet - still battling my way through BIA: Hell's Highway on Authentic. The "Your Nemesis" stat is good - lets me know who to gun for LOL
I picked up FEAR 2 yesterday...it's a scary game but I like what I've played of it so far.

I had a play through FEAR 2. Not so impressive. I got bored of it pretty quickly. The effects are cool and all, but it could have been so much better.
There are some genuinely creepy bits though especially when you are all alone, playing at night, with all the lights off and with the headphones on. <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... /ph34r.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'\' />
Oh and I reeaaalllly hope they don't add any vehicles to MW2, it would ruin the whole game dynamic. Leave it for games life Battlefield I say.

lol...lots of people have said how creepy FEAR2 is. I've only played a bit of it. I was going to play it when I got home from work but ended up doing other things instead.
So...what types of vehicles do you want them to put in MW2? Amphibians? Harriers?
Lots of spawn points in MP?
I think they are going to touch on more of the terrorism activity that's been going on worldwide - it will be interesting to see how they keep the game current without offending too many people. Maybe MW2 will be the next GTA for criticized games.

The vehicles in Quake Wars can be blown up - of course, they can also be repaired, but at least they can be blown up lol
I agree that there is too much concentration on the politically correct thing in society today - and some people are too easily offended, but then again with some of the recent major events on the world terrorism front, there is still that line of good taste/bad taste to consider. Certainly there are events which have happened and are now part of history, but the way they may be dealt with in a game still requires consideration on the part of the developers.

New Info Regarding MW2
# No co-op included in story mode, however separate missions (similar to CoD4 Mile High Club) will include co-op multiplayer
# Snowmobiles! They will be used in the "wintery bits" of the game, to escape attack - unclear whether they will be able to be driven, or if players will shoot from them. Also, ice walls will feaAture, which can be climbed by alternating between the two console triggers
# Online multiplayer to feature a new live-patching system, which does away with the annoyance of downloadable patches
# 60 frames-per-second, higher detail than CoD4
# Movable turrets, riot shields mentioned as included, along with customisable weapons for single-player enemies
# Still linear, but slightly more open-ended than CoD4
# Stealth can now be used "if you like"
# Enemy respawn issues are being looked at (to fix the issue in CoD4 where enemies would automatically respawn until a player crossed a line)
# Single-player campaign promises to be longer than that in CoD4
# Swimming mode enabled.
# A ‘Stealthy’ Oil pipeline Scuba Mission will be included in campaign mode.
# A level will definetly be based in Rio De Janeiro.
# Siberian Level will feature in campaign mode.
# Vehicles (e.g. Trucks, Tanks etc.) will be introduced into the Modern Era.
# A ‘Helicopter Based’ Level will be featured.
# An Oil Tanker level will also be featured.
# Ken Lally (Wesker from Resident Evil 5) will be voice acting. Most likely as a Russian villain.
Still, some very interesting news, and I'm very glad they are looking into the enemy respawn. Overall... <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... /yahoo.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'(yahoo)\' />
