another clueness newbie

hi:)

well i joined mostly so that i could poke around and hopefully learn some new and interesting ways in website design (what ive done so far doesnt even qualify as basic, so no, im not sharing that with you yet lol). killagraphix also doesnt seem limited to graphix, so who knows what else i might pick up?

is this the part where i tell you all about my fabulous self? i seem to remember it being part of the ritual newbie speach.

ok, originally born in england, lived and married in the US for the last year. i did study 'information technology' at university and came out with a good grade. however, even though i wrote stunning on essays on the merits of different networks, algorithms and other subjects that we covered, it by no means gave me any of the basic skills needed to work in such an industry. so now im just plodding along, learning what interests me. i dont however expect to make a career out of any of this, and doubt i could handle working in an office again anyway.

well i look forward to getting to know you lot and seeing what i might be able to bring to the group.

As for KillaGraphix not being limited to just graphics, you\'re definitely right there, take a look in the KillaGraphix Gang section of the forum to find the other sites in the network, the codecrypt site and section of the forum will be a good place to pick up on web coding, and if you keep dropping in you\'ll see lots of new things going on here <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />

At KG we are all at different stages in all kinds of interests and skills. We enjoy talking about most aspects of IT, as well as other genereal topics. Most of us have recently started website, so don't be shy about showing your work - we may get ideas or be able to give you some help.

If you have any questions or need any help just post it on the forums, and you will probably find that it will be answered within an hour or so, as there are staff checking just about constantly.

yes, adeara, i fear our poor rift will soon have to invest in a laptop lol

i am jumping about around the boards looking a place to start really. i learnt html and thats pretty much it. i started to delve into java, so i guess i'll continue with that. my only problem is, there isnt anything i want to *do* with any of it. no programs i need to write, or dare to immerse myself in at least, so i guess i'll just wait for the programming bug to catch up with me then write something of little use lol.

so i'll fiddle around with paintshop some more.
as for being shy about showing off the webpages i made, well your right lol. i made some school theme webpages for 11 year olds to use - so they werent designed to be fancy. however, none of the graphics in them were my own, i just 'borrowed' them, changed them to what i wanted and made a page out of it. i dont feel right about showing off that work when it isnt soley mine....so until i get more fluent with my paint brush, im afraid you'll have to wait.

speaking of which, im off to see the what i can come up with.

im a "newbie" too, only been around or a week or two, and im glad i joined. i cant remember how i found this site. but im glad i did, ive had a great time talking to everyone in #killagraphix and even posting on the forum, i look forward to becoming a valued member of the killagraphix team!

since i have joined people have been really helpful and seem'd easy to talk to. and auctually helped me when i wasent sure about a certain thing, not juss got mad at me for being a newbie or asking questions,

i just want to say..
