As some of you might know, and some might now know my little brother was diagnosed with ADHD, ADD, ODD, and PDD 6 week after he was born. He kept having ceasures (sp?) when we brought him home from the hospital and finally decreased to never having them.

Well for those of you who don\'t know, all of these problems happen to his brain. They include (for us anyway): Slow speech; sometimes slurred. Brain development slow; He is 6 and he acts 3. Repetitive (sp?) noise making; Includes clapping for no reason, banging on a table, and other things that make noise when manipulated the right way. No pain; His nerve system is slow also... When he falls and scabs his knee he doesn\'t notice because his nerves dont send a message to the brain of \'Ouch! That hurt, I\'m not going to do it again\' so he just keeps doing it. These problems also cause head banging: Banging his head into objects to comfort himself (ie; Going to sleep, or doing it when he is mad) He sometimes bangs into a pillow or he does it right on cement. Hurting animals and laughing afterwards. He usually hurts our animals by grabing their ears and trying to rip them off their head (yes sounds mean and very hard to imagine. I\'ve thought about getting rid of all of our animals for these reasons.) And I\'m not going to continue because this list could go on for months.

Ever since he was diagnosed with these problems he has had to gone to Iowa City to see the so called "experts" to check up on him. Well today was the day he went so yes I was stuck babysitting all day long and they came home early with the news that they sent him home early cause they felt that everything was fine. and no not as in normal fine, we mean the doctors think that he has been cured. Which we know he hasn\'t. He\'s been acting more and more abnoctuous (sp..!) than usually the last week or two. This means they would take him off all 4 pills he is on now (which calms him down slightly) and he wouldn\'t get any Respite care (Where a social worker comes and takes him to give all of the family a break) his SSI (I dunno what that is exactly,, I think some kind of money fund) and his special education that he gets at school which helps him. Basically if he doesn\'t get that he gets to be a 14 year old at age 25 <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... rts_kr.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'(ow)\' />

We\'re poor and all of those above things give us extra money for my little brother and it helps us get by with the grocery\'s and the other needs for a household. Well since we don\'t make enough to do all that it needs to go to all the bills. Which means for my mom I KNOW she pays first, The water bill, electrical bill, gas bill, phone bill and then all the other extra bills we have which include a new car which is $500 a month. (I don\'t know why they HAD to go out and get a brand new one >_<) and this basically means that we might be loosing everything.

Everything includes.... just that; Everything. No house, no car, no food, no money, no... nothing. I\'m not saying this is a DEFINATE announcement that I am never coming to KG again, no. I\'m just saying if you don\'t see me for a couple weeks then you know what happend to me.

Doctors are still researching and my mom is still cussing their asses out for doing this to us.
(f) Dani (f) says:
their saying he\'s just "hyper"...but I will get it straight, dont you worry, you know I dont give up on you boys without a fight!
So there you have it. My bad news =)

PS: Don\'t feel bad for me, I hate it when people say that to me =( You should feel bad for my little brother for having a life like his.

Exactly. People say \"He\'s just a normal but hyper little kid\".... I want them to tell us that when he rams himself into a wall sending all things hanging on that wall crashing to the floor and when he goes to the top of the stairs and says \"Mommy! Mommy! I Fly!!\" and tries to jump off of the railing landing in the living room. >.< It\'s so frustrating..

But I have gotten news (from mom) that we are taking him to Des Moines for him to get evaluated... So hopefully they will give us some more meds to put him on to keep him somewhat of a \'normal\' child. =x

Sorry to hear this... I have been in the situation of worrying about not having food on the table or with no phone and it's hard sitting there trying to relax in your bed at night and the fear of living on the streets haunts you... all I can say is stay positive and ask for advice online and don't put anything on yourself because it isn't your fault.

Hi Josh and all again
I've joined a local group called freecycle, where, basically people give away their junk. this junk can be a fridge, hot tub or kittens. its all free and people just basically want it out of their homes. it was started by a guy named deron beal to try and cut down on the mountains of fridges and ovens piling up in his area. it kinda spread internationally from there. if you go to www.freecycle.org you can view a list of groups in your area -if there isnt one then you can start your own and people will gradually or suddenly join - i started one for the small town i currently live in.
while these people dont help pay your bills or give away groceries i find its always worth checking the list every few days to see what pops up. if your washer suddenly dies and your already having trouble buying bread and butter, then a free one from someone works out great.
i hope this helps somewhat...i know getting a lawn mower or fridge for free wont put food on the table, but hopefully it will mean theres just a little extra money left over at the end of the month - which is always a bonus lol
