This programme was advertized on a forum I belong to. There is an unlimited free trial if you use it on your computer, 30 days if it's used on a domain. If this programme is worth it, maybe we could talk them into one 149.00 licence as our domains will all be (eventually) integrated. Perhaps our site coders could take a look at it and give me some feedback?

I did work experience for [url=\"http://ripefruit.com\"]a company[/url] that were setting up [url=\"http://ripesite.com\"]their own CMS.[/url] Basically, they built the framework for the pages in either PHP or ASP, then stuck it in the site and let the users edit their own content.

Essentially, it is what this forum as in the "Add Reply" section. You can add / edit text, use a few basic HTML things like <a /> links, with a few more advanced things like tables as well. The way the KG sites are set up at the moment, that would be very easy to do. They have this kind of format:

We could just put the >>CONTENT GOES HERE<< in a file, and have the CMS system edit the file. However, like all projects - this will take time. And we probably wouldn't be able to do a WYSIWYG editor (not that we really need one). I dunno though, could be some cool software for us to build.

Maybe we should give it a trial, and get some ideas...

Oh--I wasn't meaning for us to build one, I thought that Editize itself might be useful, but whatever is best and easiest for you coders to do is fine with me, and certainly if you're all up to it, I have no objections to building one. Right now any options that can help bring some money in to anyone who builds/creates stuff and in the long run brings KG some income would be great.

I just think that $190.00 is an awful lot of money to pay for something that we could probably do ourselves. Scott?

[color=\"blue\"]To be honest I'm not too sure it would be worthwhile. Firstly, thats quite a bit of money there, even if it was possible to get them to agree on $149. [url=\"http://www.interactivetools.com/products/htmlarea/\"]This[/url] does pretty much the same job but is free on a very unlimited license. Granted, its not as functional as editize appears and it doesn't work in mozilla, its still an option if this is something you would like added. The other side im against it is mainly because of my general opinion of most wysiwyg editors and frontpage especially.

I agree a CMS is something to deeply consider further down the line. And as for building our own editor - thats javascript i really don't want to learn [ot]*Shoots javascript*[/ot]

I read through the website for this Editize stuff, didn't really make that much sense to me. Sounds like more trouble than it's worth, especially with that price. Anyway, the whole reason i've been working on different areas of PHP is to eventually build up my own CMS for personal and permitted use. I have no doubts we could code one, don't waste yer money Ada.. send it to me instead

no, it was just something to look at -- partly because I'm not sure on all that we need, and what can easily be coded....that's what you guys are for (and I can say that cuz you're all guy coders)

well i registered and went to download this program , and while im not too clear on what it does, ive unfortunately not had the time to run it and poke around to give an informed opinion.

although by now i think you all know my answer to these needs:

"have rift code it!"

if i can give him a constant supply of quiet time and pancakes you can pretty much guarantee he can code it for you guys:)

im still learning how to be quiet tho lol
