There has been a relatively large "Internet Revolution" in the past 6 months, and astoundingly it has gained so much the publicity that even civilians are noticing. Not since the likes of "Spank the monkey" have non-computing folks started commenting on "technical" matters.

I am of course talking about the Uprising of Mozilla <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... ggidea.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'(idea)\' /> Every person with access to a blog or internet site has started putting all kinds of Anti-internet explorer quotes and images on their site.

Internet explorer has been subject to intense scrutiny lately with many security flaws being uncovered, and alternatives being showcased. One such alternative is Mozilla Firefox, a delightful FREE browser that sports tabbed browsing, standards compliency and a host of other features. This browser has been embraced by all techheads, anti-microsoft activists and people with common sense in general.

Though lately, a question has presented itself that not many thought of before. If Microsoft was not the most used operating system, would hackers still target it? Arguably, the reason that there are more exploits found in Microsoft Internet Explorer than any other is because it is (or was) by far the most popular browser, and had far more people trying to hack it. There have been 2 security flaws found for Firefox in the past 2 months, and that number seems set to increase as more people embrace the browser. Thankfully, quick updates have been released for firexfox, which - in its defence - is only in developement stages at the moment.

The fact remains that the people have risen up in one giant mass, and given microsoft one giant "middle finger." The blog has presented itself as a formidable medium, especially since google has started indexing weblogs. Just wait till KillaBlogs is released <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... >/blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />

Miscrosoft Internet Explorer development has been at the very least put on the backburner, because since they unethically and immorally got rid of Netscape (this action sparked an anti-trust suit) they have had no competition. Suddenly, Microsoft has started talking about version 7, tabbed browsers, standards and heightened security. It seems that it may be a case of "too little, too late" as I, for one, am certainly not going back.

meh, i find i.e fine to use, although that probably because i have a 56k and cant be stuffed downloading anything thats bigger then 6-7 mg's as it takes ages <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... >/blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />
