sorry, only just got round to replying, killanet navigator has been successfully completed, ive also gotten round to getting the bulk of my personal projects out the way so i can focus on killanet over the summer holidays (6 weeks yey), im ready to start a new project for killanet and am currently scouring the area for stuff which would be useful or needs doing <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />

okay that list is way old, some of those sites/scripts/features no longer apply.

1. Fun Stuff needs a proper index page, but as I haven\'t even finished alot of the stuff on there, and have decided to drop alot of stuff from it, the whole site needs revisiting.

2. KillaGraphix Index Page-we are using IPB\'s portal for now. I don\'t know if the upcoming IPB release will contain more features for it or what mods are available for it, Vulture would know more about that.

3. The KG index page made by Sp3c is going to be revamped a bit and moved to KillaHosting

4. Writers is being worked on by Trinity and Kobra, Josh has completed his part

5. Content for Freeware which is made by those of us at KillaNet. This includes brushes, wallpapers, banner & site templates, web site nav sets, button sets, psp tubes, custom shapes, custom textures, custom text & layer styles, 3D models, custom fonts, software applications (small ones because anything big I think we could try to market eventually, with the programmer getting a large percentage of sales earnings), scripts (free and marketable), games, game mods, maps, whatever else you can think of.

6. Articles-I have plans for a reference articles section which people will be able to submit their editorials/news/how-to articles to

7. Gaming cheats & reviews-a very long way to go in that department

8. Quality forum content for both forums

9. KillaCode needs a site layout and content

10. Marketing-ad banners, ideas, listings

11. We are currently investigating the best way to integrate all sites into one member database, any suggestions, help would be appreciated

12. Still waiting for an xClan layout, it\'s not fair to KOH to be taking this long.

13. Writers is going to need one helluva lot of content-references, short stories, mid-length stories, reference links, etc etc etc

14. Anyone who can code PHP needs to check with Vulture to see where he could use some extra help.

This also means a commitment will need to be made, because those in charge of each area will be in charge, and required to keep up to date on projects and innovations. 16. Reference information for Graphix - vercz did a software list for me which I still have, and I have a few other things but we can always use more.

Uhm, about knowing php and contacting vulture, what if we just can\'t find any interest in it anymore but we still know how to code it? rofl..

Ok I\'ve read this post before, and had nothing to say really. What ada said applied to me and yes I\'ve been slack abit, but after I read it I proceeded onto trying to make a design for KOH for the clan, had some trouble designing it, and I still do so that may take a while. I\'ve offered a design for killa coding but I\'m not offering any of my coding because truely its not good, and for me to make a website with my level for a site thats called killa [b]coding[/b] would be a joke.

hoax i would love to help with koh's site but am truly no good at that...if theres any work i can do in photoshop just lemme know.,....i had thought, as he requested a KN look and feel that jer's recent wp comp win with the red shards on would be a good one to use ----not sure, also depends on jer, you and koh saying yes to using it.

Websets consist of navigation buttons, a banner, possibly an avatar, a divider bar, and can include an image tile.

A few other things I forgot:

Slogans and designs which can be used should we decide to re-open the cafepress store to sell \"Killa Gear\" My decision to re-open it or not will be largely based on the amount of material we get. These can be generic slogans, original slogans like we had in the TCN store (Scripters don\'t get old, they just lose a bracket) etc. etc. etc.

As for taking over the world, there are new tactical plans in the works. Updates will be released as new events occur.

I posted a PS Quick Tip in the PhotoShop tutorials section - more of these \"quick effects\" or \"how to do something really simply\" ideas are fast and easy to do, so if you\'re not feeling up to writing an indepth tutorial, consider writing one of these. Tools hints are good too.

Well, I sat on this topic for a while now. Told Ada I would, and that it was a sort of test to see how long before a few replied. One is still missing, but I think I\'ve waited long enough, and that person will just have to... well, I won\'t cover that here, but it involves two lists I have been keeping, and it\'s not the best of things when one person moves between the lists in the wrong direction.
You all don\'t see much production from me from the visual standpoint, and a few probably wonder why I am sitting here as an admin. Well, I sometimes wonder too... then I think about how much of a joy it is to spend several hours keeping this server running to make sure all the sites show up when a user goes to the link. Plus the damn-near endless patching of software (seems like php, mySQL, and Apache are releasing quick-fixes daily), security steps that are being put into place for once this place goes 100% live to make sure it\'s not dead 3 days later... and well, you get the idea. While I may not be much of a php coder, and I have a severe disliking for MySQL at the moment, and I can think of nothing I would like to see more than someone shoving a hot poker into the forehead of whoever was intelligent enough to release phpBB as a \'quick-install\' but not release a patch for the rmp file as bug fixes come out, I do spend a lot of time working on this place and it occasionally reminds me of what it is all for.
There is a key word to all of that. Let me point it out again.

Lately, things seem to have been slipping again. Scott and Adaera are on the verge of burnout (did anyone notice an article Adaera posted this morning about overworking yourself?), and still there are a few that are... well, lets be kind for a moment and say that a few are dragging their feet.
Giving an example here to expalin my current frame of mind (I\'m not ging to point fingers, and I could care less about blame at this point). Several months ago, we were discussing bringing killagaming online with gamserver hosting and such. Included in this was the purchase of 2 servers on a partial rack, all set up and ready to go for a very low price. All it needed was a website. We had it planned so that the website had almost 2 months to be ready, then the servers would be purchased and I would spend my holiday week prepping them for production status... patching, securing, installing, blah blah blah, you get the idea. Deadline came... and went. Still people chatted, played with shoutcast and games and whatpulse. My holiday week that I was going to spend getting this ready came... and went. And still, the chat, shoutcast, games, and whatpulse continued, The once-in-a-lifetime deal for pricing for the packages we wanted came... and went. Follow a trend? Now, here we are, almost 6 months after the initial idea was brought up... an idea that could have brought money into this network, and you look at where it is now... the site is finally done, but only because of overnight cram sessions... nothing has been sold because we now have to meet global gaming cost, instead of being able to slip in underneath it. Gaming is not the only thing this has been done with, either. I\'m noticing a lot of sites having months for a deadline, but everything else just kind of takes a priority over it and it gets lost in the shuffle.
I\'m not expecting everyone to drop their personal lives for this, but when you sit on the chat and discuss how bored you are, or how you have nothing to do, or whatever stupid thing that gives the impression you would rather do anything else over get the network moving... well, ask yourself why you\'re really here. Rift has taken the time to post numerous things that can be fixed around here... Scott and Ada have taken the timeto post the sites that need to be done or worked on... there is an extensive list that has been posted several times of the sites that are still waiting to go live. Why not step up to the plate and take some initiative on completing them?
I basically would like everyone here to just spend a minute asking themselves why they are here. Why were they chosen to be staff? Ready for the answer? Because you\'re good at what you do, and it is (was) the opinion of the admins and the other staff that you would (are) an asset to this group and can get things done that you start. Now ask yourself if the admins and other staff were right.
So... were we?
Oh... and to the staff member(s) who have not touched the reply button on this topic yet, but have still managed to view it and cruise around the forum some everyday since it\'s been posted. What\'s your excuse?

Let me start by apologizing for the delayed response to this thread.... in the last month there was a death in the family, a wedding in my wife\'s family - which required out of town/ out of province travelling.

I do agree with Adaera\'s post and do not take any offence to it. And let me make it real clear that I have great respect for the efforts and dedication that people such as Adaera, Vulture, NightStorm, and others have shown for KN. With that being said I feel it is the appropriate time and thread for me to say some things on my own behalf.

Firstly, I am a 32 year old father of two, with a wife who\'s health currently disables her from being able to work. This means it is up to me to be able to support them. This involves working long hours in construction (especially in summer) and working additional evening work at a second job. This generates just enough for us to pay the bills, rent, food etc.... this summer has inccured some additional expenses due to the wedding and funeral. This has caused us to cut back to one internet connected computer on "slow-speed" (Cable light speed) internet. Is this a sob story? ... no, it\'s not. I\'m simply pointing out that I\'m a grown man living in the "real world" and not someone living at home who feels like chatting or playing vg\'s rather than contributing to KN. I would love nothing more than to have all the time in the world to contribute to KN. However, unfortunately surviving takes precedence. Like everyone, I am a volunteer at KN. This means that I can only afford to offer my spare time to KN (which, at times may become next to zero). If this means that I will end up on a "list" of delinquant staff members, then so be it. I won\'t apologize for feeding, clothing, housing, etc. my family. If at any point Admins feel it is in KN\'s best interest to remove myself from the list of "staff members", then so be it. I will continue to put forth my best effort under whatever title I\'m given.

Well the reason I\'m here is to help out where I can and when I can. I\'ve known Adaera a long time and love her enthusiasm, spirit and determination. She believes in the talent of everyone that makes up KN - to such an extent that she is willing to invest her hard earned dollars into its future. I only wish that we can all help make her vision of KN as a large successful corporation come true.

I owe a book review which I am hoping to have done soon. The book is on SQL and I would have liked to had more time to actually put the book lessons into practice before writing the review. However, due to the busy month I\'ve had this just simply didn\'t happen so I will write a review based soley on the reading.

On a final note, I dream of the day when we could all be paid employees working for a hugely successful company called KillaNet and have the full work day to put our best foot forward.
