Please help me in choosing web hosting

Hi everyone,
I am sorry for possible offtopic, but I need your help in find new web hosting provider as soon as possible, because my current host (bluehost.com) is kicking me off, they say 'your account is using a lot server resources', but my website gets only about 200 visitors per day and my disk usage is 1500 MB (maybe they do not like that?)

Anyway, what would be your recommendations for getting reliable web hosting? Where are you hosting your websites? Are you happy with your providers?

I am now checking [url=\"http://www.hosting24.com/\"]http://www.hosting24.com/[/url] - offer looks very nice, but is it real that they can provide unlimited disk space?
I have contacted them about this question and they say something that "These days 500GB disk drive costs only $30 per month, so if some day we will run out of disk space we will simply add new 500GB disk drive with almost zero costs and you can continue uploading without any problems".

What do you think about it? Maybe things have changed in last 4 years? With my current provider I get only 2GB of disk space for $10 per month..
Any ideas and suggestions are much appreciated.

In all honesty, "unlimited" is a loose term tossed around these days in the hosting world, but logically it's a myth. When you run into hosts offering you unlimited packages, what they are doing is overselling their own server resources in the hope that you don't actually put their claims to the test.
Any company offering you something with the word "unlimited" attached to it should be viewed with scrutiny, as they could end up being a headache to your website later down the line when they've crammed their servers full of resource hogs and the system starts crashing.
Their offer is, in my opinion, "too good to be true". Unlimited space and bandwidth? Free domain forever? I wouldn't bet on it.

On a sidenote, it'd probably give a feeling of originality of you posted something a little more original, instead of the exact same message you've already posted (according to [url=\"http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&rls=ADBS%2CADBS%3A2006-29%2CADBS%3Aen&q=0xyGen+%22hosting24.com%22\"]google[/url]) 992 times, word for word.

At any rate, this was a great chance to open a discussion in regards to open promises on the Internet, such as "Unlimited" hosting offerings.

Knew I should have googled the post lol.

So 'Unlimited' isn't Unlimited? The way I saw it was that a host would acquire so many users. Say 10 users each on an unlimited package. If user 1 starts taking up too much space then wouldn't they just add more space to their systems to not bottle up the whole system?

I guess I don't get the methods used behind the actual server side of hosting lol

Well, *good* hosts would do something like that, and limit the number of users per server. But the majority of them will run under the assumption that the average user on an unlimited package might only use 4 or 5 GB, and manage the server as such (a 500GB drive could hold 100 "unlimited" customers, allowing for one to use more space as another uses less)... it's when those customers actually try to test the unlimited limit, where problems come up...
This is called overselling. It's cramming as many customers as one possibly can onto a single server, and then just hope and pray that they don't actually use the resources they were promised. Many people have lost their sites and files because of companies doing this, and then having a server failure for whatever reason.
While it's easy enough on most servers to plug another hard drive in, such things bring downtime... which can affect the other promise that hosts like to make... 99.9% uptime. The 30 day month holds 43200 minutes. To keep their promise, during any month, they can only afford 7.2 hours downtime for the whole month. One crash, one power failure, one hardware failure, or one hardware swap can thow that whole thing out.
Companies really like to assume that things will run perfect. That's usually when a generator room explodes.

The other reality... who actually needs so much disk space that they require an "Unlimited" package?
