Disney's CG/live action BEVERLY HILLS CHIHUAHUA (vfx by Tippett Studio, Cinesite, Image Engine Design, K.N.B. Effects Group, Kerner Optical, Proof, Realscan 3D and Svengali Visual Effects) placed first for the second week in a row, making $17.511 million for a total gross of $52.541M.
Second place went to horror flick QUARANTINE (Screen Gems, vfx by Lola Visual Effects and Almost Human), which opened with $14.2M.
Warner Bros.' CIA actioner BODY OF LIES (vfx by Sony Pictures Imageworks) with Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe opened in third place with $13.12M.
EAGLE EYE placed fourth with $11.015M and a three-week cume of $70.551M. The Paramount/DreamWorks thriller's vfx were by Sony Pictures Imageworks, The Third Floor and Kerner Optical.
Fifth place went to NICK AND NORAH'S INFINITE PLAYLIST (Sony) with $6.5M and a two-week total of $20.81M.
THE EXPRESS, about the first African-American Heisman Trophy winner, opened with $4.731M from Universal (vfx by CIS Hollywood).
Romance NIGHTS IN RODANTHE (Warner Bros.) did another $4.61M for seventh place, for a three-week cume of $32.366M.
Adding another 245 theaters, Western actioner APPALOOSA from Warner Bros. (New Line, vfx by Great FX) earned $3.34M for eighth place and has a four-week gross of $10.886M.
Ninth place went to Keira Knightley-led THE DUCHESS, opening wide after three weeks in select cities. The Paramount Vantage (vfx by Rainmaker) period drama earned $3.322M for a total four-week cume of $5.62M
And in tenth place, kids actioner CITY OF EMBER (Fox, vfx by Amalgamated Pixels, BUF, Below The Radar and Luma Pictures) opened with $3.2M.
In animation, MGM's IGOR earned $533,000 for a four-week total of $18.046M.

From the previews, and plotline, I would say it's pretty safe to assume that the movie is a waste of the film it was shot on.
