ARISTEN LAUNCHES NEW VERSION OF SPECIAL EFFECTS SEQUENCER FXSTUDIO™ FOR PC, XBOX® 360; PS3™, Wii™; STUDENT EDITION RELEASED
Revised pricing strategy is now per-seat for easier budgeting.
BELLEVUE, WA – JUNE 4, 2009 - Aristen, Inc. today announced the launch of FxStudio™ Professional, a new version of FxStudio, its cross-platform special effects sequencing solution for the PC, Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii platforms. The company also announced the launch of a new FxStudio Student Edition for the PC.
“Since the launch of FxStudio late last year we’ve been working hard to add some great new features and make a number of improvements to the system,” said Aristen CEO Andrew Kaplan. “With the release of FxStudio Professional and FxStudio Student Edition we have answered the call of the independent and casual game developers who are looking for a world-class content pipeline at a price point they can afford.”
FxStudio Professional; What’s New
FxStudio provides a special effects content pipeline solution for both large and small studios, publishers, AAA, independent, and casual game developers. The three main modules included in FxStudio are:
FxStudio Designer, a full-featured special effect sequencing tool for artists;
FxStudio Preview, which drives productivity and quality by elimination iteration time (effect sequences are created and evaluated in near-real time); and
FxStudio Runtime, which creates and manages special effect instances (platform-specific runtime modules provide the API and data-management facilities).
FxStudio Professional includes updates of these three modules plus:
Developers have the ability to pause effects and “scrub” to any point in their timeline;
Advanced curve control provides smooth ramping values and multiple curve support in a single control;
A wide variety of new and professionally crafted sample effects that demonstrate the wide range of effects FxStudio is capable of producing. Sample effects come complete with implementation source code and original artwork making it even easier for developers to visualize the possibilities.
Aristen has also implemented support for A/B looping allowing artists to hone in on specific segments of their effect. This enhancement advances the zero iteration time development environment resulting in improved productivity and quality.
FxStudio is licensed on a per-seat basis. Please visit www.fxstudio.com for details.
New FxStudio Student Edition for PC
Aristen also announced a low-cost FxStudio Student Edition for at-home hobbyists and student game developers. FxStudio SE provides nearly all the same powerful content pipeline for your PC as the full version of FxStudio.
