Post by Tami »

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Kicking off 2010, on the heels of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), SteelSeries, the leading manufacturer of gaming peripherals and accessories announced that in 2010 the company will further expand their professional gaming gear portfolio for PC while expanding selection and availability into the gaming console and mobile markets. In addition, SteelSeries will continue to increase its investment in competitive gaming teams, tournaments, and related events.

“SteelSeries experienced tremendous growth in 2009 as we launched new products that lead the PC peripherals industry in both technology and design. Based on feedback we received in 2008 from our teams and customers, in 2009 we also entered into new markets with our Xbox 360™ headset connector and our mobile device headset adapter which have allowed us to gain a deeper understanding of the short-comings and needs of gamers in these segments,” said Bruce Hawver, CEO of SteelSeries. “In 2010 we have big plans for the professional, competitive, and new entrant gamers to these markets. We’re planning to stay true to our roots by bringing our core audience of PC professional gamer’s new and impressive gear while we leverage our learning’s from 2009 to expand our portfolio for additional offerings in the console and mobile gaming space. As always input from our partners and teams will help us to continue to deliver products that are high-performing, comfortable, and bring that extra competitive edge when ‘winning is everything’.”

New SteelSeries products including headsets, surfaces, keyboards and more will be announced throughout the first quarter, while later this month, SteelSeries will kick off its 2010 sponsorship activities with a number of original tournaments including SteelSeries iron.lady III Tournament and participation in entertainment events including the 52nd Annual GRAMMY® Awards Official Gift Bag which will feature the SteelSeries Siberia v2 Headset and accessories for presenters and performers.

Pro-Gamer POV
From our first product design, SteelSeries has worked closely with the professional gaming community to develop products that address their needs and help them win. In 2010, SteelSeries will take this approach to the next level by integrating the professional gamers that we consult with, and making their pro-gamer point-of-view available to our entire community of fans and players.

SteelSeries’ new portfolio of products will be launched throughout the year, while participation in events, new tournament sponsorships and professional gamer accessibility to our customers will be announced in the coming weeks.
