Infinium Labs to Sponsor Indie Games Con; Summit Meeting of Independent Video Game Programmers, Artists and Entrepreneurs to Focus on Collaboration in the Indie Community

SARASOTA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 4, 2004--Demonstrating the company's commitment to bringing hidden gem video games to market, Infinium Labs today announced sponsorship of the Indie Games Con (IGC), a gathering of independent game developers from around the world, scheduled for Oct. 8 - 10, 2004 at the Mallard Banquet Hall, Eugene, Ore.

Infinium Labs will be a premier sponsor of the event and will present at a luncheon Saturday, Oct. 9. Several independent developers that will make titles available on Infinium Labs' flagship Phantom Game Service will be showcased at IGC, including 21-6 Productions, Max Gaming Technologies and BraveTree Productions.

"Indie Games Con is a great place for us to present the digital distribution opportunity to developers looking to harness the power of broadband to give all gamers a chance to play their titles," Kevin Bachus, president and COO, Infinium Labs, said. "Digital distribution services like our flagship Phantom Game Service also offer consumers an extremely broad selection of games they might not otherwise get to play."

Infinium Labs chose to sponsor the event based on common goals it shares with presenter GarageGames, a unique Internet publishing label for independent games and gamemakers.

"Like Infinium Labs, we want to give all sizes of gamemakers the opportunity to publish their games, find their audiences -- and perhaps make their fortunes," Jay Moore, evangelist, GarageGames, said.

IGC is designed to be a summit meeting of like-minded developers who have the shared goal to focus on collaboration and building community. The conference is designed to strike a balance between informative sessions, developer networking, product showcasing, awards and LAN parties.

In addition to Infinium Labs, premier sponsors for IGC include NVIDIA Corp., Apple Computer, LinSpire and TLC. Supporters include GameDev.net, Game Development Search Engine, Wild Duck Brewery and Max Gaming Technologies.
