New features in Carrara 4 include a new terrain and a new sky module, new texture and lighting controls, and improved rendering, IK, motion paths and timeline support. In addition, the new version offers an updated Scene Wizard, faster OpenGL, ray traced depth of field, shader transforms, the ability to apply shaders to a group.

The Pro version adds vector and 3D motion blur, four new file imports (BVH, COB, FBX, LWO), sound support in the timeline, network rendering as well as full license of Amapi Designer 7 and Eovia's TransPoser and CADstyle plug-ins.
