Police find couple drenched in beer and soda pop

Instead of showering each other with love, a North Platte couple drenched each other in beer and soda pop Sunday after a fight over the TV remote control and it took the police to clean up the mess.

The rift began, according to a North Platte Police Department spokesman, when neither one of the formerly happy couple, each 45-years-old, could locate the TV remote.

The playful pair lived in the 200 block of West First Street in North Platte.

Accusations flew, an argument ensued and it quickly escalated after the contents of a can of beer was dumped on the head of one of the playful pair.

Not to be outdone, the other lover then dumped the contents of a can of soda pop over the head of the second significant other.

The fight was on, the beer and soda pop was copiously shared between the two.

A neighbor heard the caterwalling and called police.

By the time officers arrived, at 9 p.m., the couple was each wringing wet with the contents of their soggy, significant other’s drink.

Even the room was sopping wet, according to officers.

The investigating officer advised both lovers to go to opposite corners of the house and cool off for the rest of the night. He also advised them to clean up.

Neither was cited and the missing remote remained unaccounted for.
