Andromeda Releases Shadow Filter for Mac OS X

Westlake Village, CA; November 18, 2004 -- Andromeda Software Inc. has announced the immediate availability of the Shadow filter for Mac OS X. Shadow filter enables photographers and graphic artists to add realistic shadowing effects to images using Adobe Photoshop and Photoshop-compatible image-editing programs.

Shadow uses 3D geometry to cast realistic shadows. A shadow of the user's input image is imposed on a casting plane that can be oriented anywhere in 3D space around the input image. Shadow has four lights that can be individually selected and oriented in the space surrounding the input image for multiple shadows. The Filter also has a virtual Camera. The Camera pans in space anywhere around the input image for unique perspective effects.

Features Include:
-- Perspective shadows with a Virtual Camera
-- Stereo 3D viewing
-- Multiple shadowing with four movable lights
-- Natural soft edges and blurring
-- Drop and Cast Shadows Imposed on Movable Planes
-- Real 3-D Shadowing
-- Novice and Expert Modes
