Hey there boys and girls of KG. This is my first peice for about two months I think, my PS2 and some new games have been taking up most of my time.
None the less, Im sure some of you saw me post a link to a site by a guy called Greg Martin, who did loads of space images and I said I'd have a go at one. Well, here it is!
Im pretty pleased with this image. Its not something Ive ever tried before and so I was pleasantly surprised with the out come. The main planet looks good, although the one set back lost alot of its definition as I shrank it down. Then there's the stars. Ahhhh the stars. Who would have though putting a load of white spots down ono a black screen could be so hard. I feel this part of the image is the one that lets it down the most. The gas clouds look ok, but the stars........nooooooo.........the stars!
Expect to see some more of this kind of work from me soon, hopefully, with some better stars!

Not bad, the planets look a little flat though. Nice work for a first try <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... >/good.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'(Y)\' />

Very nice, i like that, great use of colors, although i have to agree with spec on this one, the planets look a bit flat, mainly the thing near the top right. Apart from that, it looks great.

Yeah, I hear you guys. Thanks for the feed back. Just wait for the next one. We'll have some uber planets in that one.

Have to agree with the guys, the planets need some more dimension to them. Starfields are simple if you use the noise filter, the eraser, and random sized blurry dots & colour adjustments on different layers. <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />
Good to see some more work from you <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... iggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' />

Yeah, thats how I was making them. I used the noise on about 10%, then used brightness contrast, threshold and eraser. Its like they guy from the site says, you wont get it first time, theres no magic bullet, just that practice makes perfect.

The bruises fade but memories are made.

That is great, i agree with sp3c, though i only think the top left planet looks flatish, the other looks perfect! Galxy + stars look great
