Contemplation of Grace

I open my mouth and stare straight ahead and watch the words tumble from my lips, glare at them as they bounce off the walls until slowly, they have filled the room. Water level’s rising and I am drowning, slipping beneath this sea of imperfection, this tide of dissatisfaction.
Shut my gaping mouth and de-rail my train of thought.
Turn the music up loud to drown out the screams,
Turn the music up loud to drown out the world’s convulsions,
Turn the music up loud and the lights down low to hide the sweet raptures of my mind.
Look at your surroundings and realise that we have lost our dignity, our distinction, our elegance. Realise that we have fallen from Grace because Grace was never there.
