Network Statement

Post by NightStorm »

Hello everyone. I am sure that some of you are somewhat confused with a few of the events currently taking place. Well, I\'m going to try my best to explain what\'s happening, so that you can figure out where to go from this point.

First off, the gaming forum is in mid-migration. This means that the administration has purchased a license for IPB, and are awaiting the processing of the transaction. When this is done, and the forum is skinned and set up, it will be celebrating it\'s \"Grand Re-Opening\". If all goes well, your logins from this forum will work on that forum as well. Details are still slightly hazy, as we\'re kind of making up the whole process as we go along and working on a trial-and-error basis, so there may be a slight wait before things are final. I am hoping you all will be patient with us through this process.

Second, Staff activity. Over the past few weeks, we have been watching who has been doing what, and who has not. Some of the staff have chosen to resign, and some have chosen to \'demote\' themselves from network staff to chat staff. To these people, I personally wish them the best in their future endevors, and hope that they know that they are always welcome here. As with any other company, if you are unable to contribute to the workload in any way, often you are let go so that others can fill the position better. This is not a slam at anyone, or even a cutdown on a person\'s abilities... we are simply trying to get all of this off the ground, and when we get held up for weeks and weeks because of one person, it hurts the entire network. If you are demoted without warning, this is likely the reasoning behind it, and again, it\'s nothing personal against you as a person, but it is simply the staff trying to get everything done as quickly and professionally as possible.

This brings me into the next topic... Staff room access. In the past, things have been rather \'flexible\' about this room... from resigned staff having access, to chat staff having access, to whoever stumbles across the room having access. This week, we have decided it is time for some structure. The \'staff\' room is for Network Staff to discuss the path that Killanet Technology is taking, and is seperate from #killagraphix. For this reason, all users who should not, in the opinion of the Administration, have access to the Network Staff room have been removed. Again, it\'s nothing personal against the person. But there is no reason in our opinion why users who are not network staff should have access to a Staff room for the Network Staff.

On a side-note, talking about other Network Staff behind their back is not a good way to proceed with this group. I personally will not be naming any names (while other administration may chose otherwise, that is their decision), but things tend to have a way of travelling through the grapevine if given enough time and fuel behind them... and a lot of the things being said by one or two individuals can be viewed as extremely damaging to the Network, and seen as being a form of sabotage. If you have something to say about the administration or the way things work, be it helpful or critical, why not demonstrate that you are for the better of the Network and come to us with the comments, instead of doing the spineless thing and taking it to everyone else behind our backs?

We\'re here to try and make this all work, and turn Killanet into a top-notch company... but it can\'t be done without everyone\'s help. To those who have been helping, Thank You. To those who have not... WHY???

Shy, could you send me those files please?

I'm thinking of redoing the entire KG layout (6th/7th time?) but without caps but I'm not sure if this will be approved or not. Anyway, if that can't be done I'll work on it during the school holidays. I've had work and school totally mucking up my internet time <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... >/blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' /> That's one of the major problems down and I think I can get the spacing between the boxes by using margin:1px or something.

Ooooh.. knew I forgot something.

Radar, don't worry about coding KG now. Don't mean to sound rude but you were taking too long with it. So I took the liberty of coding it myself. Really sorry I forgot to tell you! <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... #>/cry.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':(\' />
