Generating RSS Feeds?

How exactly does this all work? I would like to know how to generate RSS feeds but I have no idea what to search for or what to do. I\'ve only used RSS feeds once, and thats on blogs. Had quite a few problems with it not working because I had already output to the browser...but apart from that it was pretty straight forward. If you want - give me a shout and I\'ll show you the code.
