Well for English we had to do a modern day Sonnet. There has to be 10 sylables in each line, and there needs to be 14 lines. It must also have ryhming couplets. Our teacher stipulated that it should be about something you are passionate about, so here is mine.
Shall I compare you to another team?
No other I shall find that will come close,
From stands our adoration we will scream,
A hist’ry proud as ours that we can boast,
Forever represent the gold and brown,
Though this year we may win the wooden spoon,
We know no thing can ever keep us down,
The mighty hawks will be back on top soon,
Through the sky we soar to take the great mark,
Dodge them all; light on foot we kick the goal,
All the fans know that Hawthorn rules the park,
Out club has it all; pride, passion, heart and soul,
So chant we’re a happy team at Hawthorn
Yes we are the mighty fighting Hawks!
