Stargate website opens up

Stargate sure is popular - we just googled it and got 4,270,000 matches (then we googled Larry Emdur and only got 2,020 matches, just to put things in perspective). But not only is Stargate more than two thousand times more popular than the host of The Price is Right, at least in an internet sense, but it\'s also a movie, a long-running television series and now a forthcoming first-person shooter for PS2 developed by Aussie development house Perception.

Publisher JoWooD recently went live with its official Stargate SG-1: The Alliance website where you can find all kinds of info and artwork - including the absolutely gorgeous screens below.

\"Due to the added functionality and the ongoing supply of information, pictures and surprises we are confident that we\'ve created a site that will attract both gamers and Stargate fans alike\", said Ernst Satzinger of JoWooD.

\"We are also proud to present the official forum board in co-operation with the major Stargate and SciFi fansites worldwide. This board will be a place of gathering, uniting the world of dedicated gamers and the large community of Stargate fans\", explains Johann Ertl, Community Manager for Stargate SG-1: The Alliance.

Sadly there\'s no real gameplay screens or footage yet, mainly concept art and background shots. But what is there is looking mighty fine, and seeing as though we can practically spit on Perception\'s Sydney studio from the au.PlayStation.com office, we think it\'s about time we hit them up to include us as playable secret characters (using Richard Dean Anderson\'s body, of course. Swoon!).
