What is a dashboard?

An Xbox "dashboard" is a GUI (graphical user interface) for your xbox, that you see on your screen when your xbox boots up(without a disk in the DVD-ROM tray). When you install an alternate dashboard, then you are installing an alternate GUI. Alternate GUI's give you more features, tools, and utilities then your orginal Xbox's GUI. You might like to think of the dashboard as a mini operating system.

Why change my Xbox's dashboard?

When you replace your dashboard you are given more options, tools, and features. Another cool thing about this is that your xbox will be set apart from others, not to mention look cool.

Are dashboards illegal?

Sadly they are.

Alternative Xbox dashboards are built with Microsoft XDK therefore making them illegal. You can't obtain any dashboard legaly. Don't download alternative dashboards unless you are willing to be caught and pay fines.

How do i put a new dashboard on my Xbox?

First of all you need to have a modded xbox, with a working mod chip installed. (Note: You also must have an illegal BIOS installed) You should pick out a dashboard and download to your computer. Next connect your computer to xbox and sent the files to you xbox via the onboard FTP client, then install the dashboard files and your done.

Where can i can download dashboards?

Like I have said before, sorry I can't help you. If they were legal I would tell you right where to find them but they are not so you are on your own.
