Guild Wars Help

Post by Josh »

I've been given a quest where I need to destroy this shadow creature thing... I don't know the exact names of everything yet so give me a break <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... >/blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' /> How do I defeat it without getting killed by it? I try to restore my health while fighting it, but it doesn't help at all by the time my health gets restored he has already taken it down to 50 (and I have 120 worth of health)...

hmm, well theres a few ways you could go about this.

1. in the town you leave from to go fight this dude, there will be "henchmen" that you can recruit to go into your party. they will help a lot (not as much as recruiting other players, but they still help a lot)

2. recruit other players to help

3. level up some more

if you see any of the LoK (Lurkers Of Killanet, official KN clan) members online (member list found here), just give them a yell... and we'll surely help out =)

thats good to hear Dren <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... igwink.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\';)\' /> still have a bit to catch up though <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... >/blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' /> radar and i are lvl 13 <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... >/blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />

MMORPG stands for Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game

simillarly there are MMO-RTS game, massively mulitplayer online real time strategy... etc <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... >/blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />

to be classed as a MMO game, you normally need hundreds of thousands of players <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... igwink.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\';)\' />

well, ive got my own question for the experienced blokes...

once youve gone to old ascalon, is there a way to go back to the normal one? (pre-searing?) like, how it is when you start off... im sure youve caught on by now <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... >/blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' /> thanks

No way to go back to Pre-Searing as far as I know. That's why everytime you start a new character in "Old Ascalon" (aka Pre-Searing Ascalon) you should finish all quests you have activated (or all available). Most simply leave once they get to level 8 or so, since that's when they start getting +0/+1 exp (woo). But once you go, you may never come back. At least, not yet - could be a way in one of the updates to return to the old town (but not exactly "Pre-Searing"). No rumours about it, but we won't know until then.

Edit:
I have to admit that the Co-Op Missions are a work of art (in terms of how you can recruit NPCs to assist you). Though, sometimes it is alot better having a real party, since the AI on the NPCs aren't always that bright (especially in later missions in the mid-teens). Just remember, depending on your class, always have a healer and a warrior (unless you're one of the two). Missions should be a breeze then. <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />

update: afaik, there is still no possible way to travel back in time <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... >/blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' /> although, maybe you can through a place called The Rift. its not a physical location, but an instance in time where time moves neither forward nor back; its spoken about a couple of times during the game, but i read more on the GW site today. Link

also, about the henchies. Yes, they can be very stupid at times (especially Alesia) , however... later in the game, when you get the new henchies (lina, dunham etc.) they seem to get 'smarter' you'll notice a big difference in them, especially Alesia

i think you should always, when choosing henchies, take a healer, warrior and mage.

my normal selections, regardless of my class:
Party of 4
Myself
Alesia (Monk)
Stefan (Warrior)
Orion (Elementalist)

Party of 6
Myself
Alesia (Monk)
Stefan (Warrior)
Little Thom (Warrio)
Orion (Elementalist)
Dunham (Mesmer)

Party of 8
Myself
Alesia (Monk - Healer)
Lina (Monk - Protector)
Stefan (Warrior)
Little Thom (Warrior)
Orion (Elementalist)
Dunham (Mesmer)
Claude (Necromancer)

yeah... i never use Reyna. sorry darl, you just cant heal (Alesia) ...cant tank (Stefan) and you cant save me from a gank (Orion)

hm, might write up a report on all the henchies tomorrow... pros, cons, skills used... etc

Sometimes Stefan is really stupid though, like when you're trying to sneak...he just charges right into a whole group of nasties...hmmm, kind of reminds me of a couple of our guild members.....
