Hi Guys,
not sure if anyone will have ever encountered such a task, but at work we have a few sites that were previously set up under a CMS (a bad one), which only allowed users certain access, and no access to code or FTP whatsoever..
It'll soon be coming time to move away from these guys, so my task was to download a whole copy of the website, or "mirror" it, and well, no way I was going to download every individual image, so I decided to use the aid of some software.
Google returned many results, though most turned out to be hard to use, or just generally poor. I did, however find one, named "QuadSucker Web", named so because of its ability to download 4 items simultaneously (i.e. multi-threaded downloads)
Rather than praising this for being brilliant software, I'd instead have to say it's the lesser of the evils. As, although it provides the most efficient interface and design, it still failed to download any items falling within link or script elements, i.e. CSS and External JavaScript files, which; in our case, were present <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... #>/cry.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':(\' />
so, the point of this post... someone really should make a -good- website downloader program.
anyone else had similar experiences?

I tried that... really didn't like it, and that also missed javascript and css files, along with any "background-image" inline CSS <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... #>/cry.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':(\' />

Think you're right, Josh!
I tried loads of software, as there's a few websites I need downloading from this stupid CMS, though I think I'll just stick with the QuadSucker one, then download the css/javascript/background-images manually!

Sometimes it's the only answer, unfortunately. Good luck <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />

Love is all a matter of timing.
It's no good meeting the right person too soon or too late.
If I'd live in another time or place...
...my story might have had a very different ending.
