AA | All Maps, there is no custom maps so everyone will have them all
UT/UT2004 | I'll have to look into this one for the most common tourny ones
CS | de_dust, de_dust2000, ice_world2k, umm quite a few... but its good to have some custom maps, just as long as they are a few mb... not like the 15mb maps >.<
CS:S | Same as CS, but their Source counter-part.
BF | Ask Radar
CoD | Ask Radar
us3rX <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... /ph34r.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'\' />
UT2004 | Rankin!
CS:S | Same as CS, but their Source counter-part. <- Some are different.
BF | Wouldn't know. Don't play it much.
CoD | Carentan, Stalingrad... users might cast votes and change the map.
Half Life 2:Deathmatch | anything's good.
AoE3 | Don't know.
Risk 2 is hawt (their words, not mine) at Valhalla. They love having a few games. Server software probably comes with the game.

Nice job on the logo, Hoax; we can use that exact version ( except 100 x 100) for the network links page on killanettechnology.com. However... all of our print media logos must have a transparent background, the same with logos that we might decide to put on shirts (if we get them) and hats (if we get them) so perhaps a red toned phoenix with black writing outlined in silver or silver writing outline in black might be better. For the text, could you use a more \"stormy\" kind of looking font? Nothing to intricate, but not a plain font either. All print media logos must be in png format to hold the resolution, which must be at least 250dpi.
For you Steam account holders, can you please try this and tell me if it works? http://www.gumpcom.com/modules.php?name=Co...showpage&pid=11
I will need to put instructions for playing CS in offline mode, so I want them to be correct.

What about CS:1.6?
I need to get to work, but I\'ll post games that are listed on other sites when I get home.
Jay tested the steam account thing, and he said it works.

Provided they have done the proper updates then they should have no problems playing it (any steam game) in offline mode.
about what games we play at valhalla, I've mentioned them before.

Contest I found on another LAN site:
(we don\'t have spectators, so that part wouldn\'t apply)
Referral Contest
Want a chance to earn back your admission price? Well, you can!
The top three people to refer the most people to register for the LAN party will receive their seat cost back, in cash, upon check-in to the event. So tell your friends to register, and to name you as the person who referred them to the site!
Anyone who refers five or more people will receive a prize at check-in!
All you have to do is have the person you referred select your username when they purchase their seat.
Rules
1. You will not qualify as a referrer until you have registered and purchased a seat.
2. Spectator tickets do not count as part of the contest. (You must have paid for a seat, and those referred by you must be buying seats.)
3. You must show up to the event in order to receive your refund.
Must of missed it, Radar, sorry. I like the contest idea Tami.... Though referring 5 people isn\'t very much or is it? Oh well... I guess I would have a hard time referring my friends.

Okay I think I\'ve figured out how to do the tournament signups on the main site instead of using the forum, which could get really unorganized. We could also use this for the Case Mod Competition. I think.
Of course that is if I\'ve installed the signup, events, and flexinode modules correctly <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... unsure.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'\' />
I think we\'ll do the eliminations like the Olympics
Preliminary Rounds in Groups, so we could have Group A, Group B, Group C, Group D and hope that we have an even number
The Group winners would then go on to play in an Elimination Round such as Group A winner plays Group C winner and Group B winner plays Group D winner, second place from each group will play each other, etc.
Then we take the winners from those rounds for the final rounds and placings.
I haven\'t read the stuff for the tournament software (mainly because I forgot that was yet something else I need to do on the site, or is that just LAN server, or both?) so I don\'t know if that\'s how the scoring and eliminations are done. Guess I\'ll find out when I read the files. <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... rts_kr.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'(ow)\' />

IN the event an odd number of enteries are received, we\'ll have one \"buy through\" based on a random lottery system. Basically, each team will be assigned a group name (or letter in your case), and then we will randomly select one group which will be an auto-pass to the second round. It shouldn\'t be too hard to code a random selector from a preset list... I mean, mIRC has one coded right into it.
LAN Party
As you\'ve no doubt noticed in the KillaNet News section at the top of the forum, the site has been officially launched. A few small areas are incomplete but that can\'t be helped (games, tournaments, competitions, downloads).
I\'ve spammed a couple of places already, but now I need to get the press release out tomorrow (already written and printed, just needs faxing or emailing) and we need to start getting the lan listed on some sites. If you do any listings, please let us know where so we aren\'t doing double work finding places.

yay for another double post
As of now, press releases have been faxed to all Lower Mainland area newspapers, tv stations and radio stations. Listings have been added (pending approval) to Blue\'s News and LanParty.com. A press release has been sent to Games Press, and a sponsorship request has been sent to nvidia. I will send requests to other manufacturers tonight (I have them all bookmarked and yes I know where the bookmarks are).
Tonight I will also start producing a sponsor package and other marketing materials which can start going out once the local papers print the press release (should be in the papers this week, at least for our Township, which would be 3 newspapers).
