Back on topic.

I\'ve discovered how easy it is to set up xbox lans. Think we should go for the gusto and add xbox?

Just means I have to find a few televisions and a few xbox units.....

[offtopic]Orby is scary...not cute.[/offtopic]

Umm I dunno..I guess you could always have them on back up and make an announcement and take a raise-hand vote to see who would use the xbox systems <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... >/blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />

EDIT
Erm...nevermind, what a stupid idea.

http://uk.playstation.com/user/forums.jhtml < click PS Network Gaming, find all the info about setting up a PS2 LAN for offline play, and report back. I simply do not have time to read every piece of information in regards to switches, hubs, cross-overs, master servers etc. and I would really really appreciate it if some of you could do the research. The same goes for setting up with xbox. I know the basics (sort of) but what about master hosts so people don\'t have to switch tables to play against other teams, etc. For example, do we need a master Xbox with all the games, or a dedicated server with all the games, how would this be managed? If we had 100 XBox and 100 PS2 players, how would it be hooked up? Again, the help would be greatly appreciated.

Xboxes will require a TV to play. Thus taking up more room.

They also both take up quite a lot of power.

It is no coincidence that the 2nd to last Valhalla here was also the day that the state reached the highest power usage in 70 years.

All PS2s and Xboxes need the games already loaded onto them.

Xboxes, PS2 and puters? IMO, that\'d be pushing it.

Well, we do have the big screen there, right? Maybe we could look into a console elimination series instead of working out how to network several dozen of each, and supply each gamer with a screen.

On a side-note, the Convention Center is not limiting the amount of power that is used, nor would they be overly concerned with running several hundred systems of various design.

They seem to have a proffesional looking web site, so I personally would go ahead with that. You can\'t go wrong probably.
