Front USB Ports

[color=\"green\"]stuck with an old computer that only has usb ports at the back? i know i was, and it was damn annoying... now with this short, easy tutorial, you too can have usb ports at the front! [/salesperson]

alrighty, first things first. equipment list (this is what i used)

USB Card - [b]MUST[/b] have at least one internal port. (from memory these are ~ $40 AUS) [url=\"http://www.killanet.net/uploads/usb_mod%20001.jpg\"](Image)[/url]
USB Cable - Male to Female connection (~ $5 AUS) [url=\"http://www.killanet.net/uploads/usb_mod%20002.jpg\"](Image)[/url]
Screwdriver
Pencil
Drill
Safety Equipment (Face Shield/Goggles and Ear Muffs/Plugs)
Hack Saw Blade
Superglue

[b]Step 1.[/b] Remove Case, and front panel of computer

[b]Step 2.[/b] Mark out on front panel where you would like the usb port to be, tracing around the female usb connection for correct size (can be anywhere) [url=\"http://www.killanet.net/uploads/usb_mod%20004.jpg\"](Image)[/url] [url=\"http://www.killanet.net/uploads/usb_mod%20005.jpg\"](Image)[/url]

[b]Step 3.[/b] Use a drill to carefully drill through front panel, getting as close to the edges as you can

[b]Step 4.[/b] Carefully remove the corner plastic, as to make the hole somewhat rectangular

[b]Step 5.[/b] Place The [b]Female[/b] end of the usb cable in the slot you've just made (you made need to make minor adjustments) [url=\"http://www.killanet.net/uploads/usb_mod%20006.jpg\"](Image)[/url]

[b]Step 6.[/b] When you're happy with the position, use the superglue to stick the cable end to the case, be careful not to get any glue inside the open port.

[b]Step 7.[/b] Depending on your case, you may be able to thread the cable through the metal frame, or you make have to drill through

[b]Step 8.[/b] Plug in the [b]Male[/b] end of the cable into the USB card, then re-assemble case. [url=\"http://www.killanet.net/uploads/usb_mod%20007.jpg\"](Image)[/url]

Sweet. I did this to an old computer of mine. See the computer I have at the moment though has the ports on the front but...the motherboard doesn't have the
